I am proud and honoured to announce that the lovely Mel Wardle Woodend and Dream Well Writing & Poetry have accepted a poem of mine to appear in their forthcoming anthology “One Hundred Memories”, to be released 9th November 2019.
‘One Hundred Memories’ is a contemporary anthology – put together, edited and published by Mel Wardle Woodend of Dream Well Writing; a small, dyslexia friendly publishing imprint, illustrated by Anneka Reay, and featuring stories, poetry, essays, and flash fiction pieces from one hundred contributors – all on the theme of ‘Memories’.
The anthology has been created to raise money in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. As well as raising money for the charity, it is hoped that the anthology will raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia – in order to increase knowledge, patience and tolerance for those suffering from the condition.
Above all, it is hoped that ‘One Hundred Memories’ will increase solidarity for those with family, friends, or partners suffering from the disease, and those who have or may be experiencing the disease in a caring capacity – looking after a loved one. It is hoped this collection will go some small way to reducing feelings of isolation.
The launch will be held on Saturday 9/11/19 at 10.30 am at Stafford Library.
The launch will feature readings from various contributors, representatives from Alzheimer’s Society and books will be available to purchase.
All profit from sales will go to Alzheimer’s Society.
Due to the high turnout expected, the launch event will be held in the large foyer of Staffordshire Place One – accessible from the library.
