A wonderful afternoon was had on the 29th September 2019 for the launch of ‘Under the Stones’. Compered by the masterful Kieran Davies, guest poets were the indomitable Goth Poet Suz Winspear and the current Worcestershire Poet Laureate Charley Barnes.
Having regaled the audience with a tamer version of his Baldy Poems (age restrictions had to apply!), Kieran introduced Suz who unleashed her vampires blinking and stunning into the afternoon light – I’m eagerly awaiting the launch of Suz’s vampiric novels, definitely material to get my teeth into!
Charley Barnes seems to have escaped the photographer, but she delighted with her tale of having an ‘Existential Crisis’ (one of my faves – the poem, not the crisis!) amongst other poems.
Many thanks must go to the staff at Cafe Nero, Broad Street, Worcester for hosting (and their excellent coffee and cake – every poet needs cake!), to Kieran, Suz and Charley for their wonderful support, and to the audience for allowing me to indulge my thought-hamsters. And not least to my lovely son Liam for his photographic skills on the day!
