Nope, not wedding bells, but bells for a book launch! Very excited to announce that my laureate collection ‘Pearl Blades and Painted Silks’ will be launched by Black Pear Press on the 19th September 2021….watch this space (and my social media!) for further details. Hopefully, the impact of this horrible pandemic will be reduced enough for us to have this in person, with real, live people; if not it will be streamed somehow; maybe even a blend of both…who knows? Meanwhile, enjoy the image of the lush cover below….

The collection combines poetry, history and photographs, taking us on a journey from personal recollections through to the age of debutante balls and surprising hidden histories from around the world.
What else have I been up to? Well, if you follow me on FaceBook or Twitter, you will have caught wind of my appearance (virtually) for BBC Radio’s Airwaves festival Bank Holiday weekend – you can listen to it via the BBC SoundsApp. Such a hoot having poetry on the performance stage front and centre (not to mention being on the same bill as the likes of T’Pau and many others!). I also received a ‘highly commended’ for my first prose entry into a competition run by Glittery Literary, the resulting anthology raising funds to tackle child poverty – happy dance! So honoured to know my words have such a wide reach and impact.
I’m also starting to appear more as Poet-in-Residence for The Commandery – Worcester over the coming months – dates will be on my FaceBook site and theirs. Pop along and have a chat, maybe I’ll write a verse or two for you!
Until we meet again – adieu, stay safe and well. Much love to you all – may the whisper of your words become the roars of truth, hope, and love.
